Faruki Ireland & Cox P.L.L. Attorneys Recognized as 2012 Ohio Super Lawyers

Char­lie Faruki has again been selected as one of the Top 10 lawyers in the Ohio Super Lawyer poll.  He has made the Top 10 list con­sec­u­tively, since the poll began.  Part­ners Jeff Ire­land, Jeff Cox, Ron Raether, Dan Don­nel­lon and Tom Krae­mer were also named Ohio Super Lawyers for 2012. Brian Wright and Andy Reitz were again named by Super Lawyers as Ohio Ris­ing Stars.

Faruki, a trial lawyer with a focus on busi­ness lit­i­ga­tion, was one of the founders of Faruki Ire­land & Cox in 1989 and is a past pres­i­dent of the Day­ton Bar Asso­ci­a­tion. He is a past chair of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Fed­eral Courts and Prac­tice Com­mit­tee, and serves as chair of the gov­ern­ing coun­cil of its Antitrust Law Sec­tion. He is a Fel­low of the Amer­i­can Col­lege of Trial Lawyers. Faruki is also the chair of the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Com­mis­sion on Con­tin­u­ing Legal Education.

His prac­tice includes class action defense, pri­vacy and data pro­tec­tion, intel­lec­tual prop­erty lit­i­ga­tion, fed­eral reg­u­la­tory inves­ti­ga­tions, prod­ucts lia­bil­ity, media, appro­pri­a­tions, adver­tis­ing, com­pe­ti­tion and other busi­ness lit­i­ga­tion. Cox is a Fel­low of the Lit­i­ga­tion Coun­sel of Amer­ica, and a Life Fel­low of the Amer­i­can Bar Foun­da­tion, the Ohio State Bar Foun­da­tion and the Day­ton Bar Foun­da­tion. He has been rec­og­nized as an Ohio Super Lawyer every year of the selec­tion. He serves on the Day­ton Bar Association’s Fed­eral Prac­tice and Civil Trial Prac­tice Com­mit­tees. A mem­ber of the Day­ton Lawyers Club, Cox is past pres­i­dent of the Carl D. Kessler Inn of Court. Cox cur­rently serves as Chair­man of the Board of Trustees of Cham­i­nade Julienne.

Krae­mer rep­re­sents clients in a vari­ety of com­plex com­mer­cial mat­ters, includ­ing intel­lec­tual prop­erty, secu­ri­ties, con­struc­tion, antitrust and envi­ron­men­tal lit­i­ga­tion. Since 1999, Krae­mer has been an adjunct pro­fes­sor at the Uni­ver­sity of Day­ton School of Law, where he teaches legal writ­ing and civil trial prac­tice, and coor­di­nates the school’s intel­lec­tual prop­erty moot court pro­gram. He has spo­ken on var­i­ous aspects of intel­lec­tual prop­erty lit­i­ga­tion at numer­ous sem­i­nars and has been named an Ohio Super Lawyer since 2007.

Raether has han­dled numer­ous mat­ters involv­ing technology-related issues that have spanned sev­eral legal areas, includ­ing antitrust, con­tracts, employ­ment, trade­mark, domain name dis­putes, and fed­eral and state pri­vacy statutes. He has been a fea­tured speaker on the use of tech­nol­ogy in the court­room and elec­tronic dis­cov­ery and has been active in orga­ni­za­tions designed to assist tech­nol­ogy entrepreneurs.

Don­nel­lon joined Faruki Ire­land & Cox as a part­ner in the Cincin­nati office in Octo­ber 2010. He has devoted his prac­tice to trial work con­cen­trat­ing on busi­ness and civil injunc­tions.  Don­nel­lon is admit­ted to the state bar in Ohio, the fed­eral bar in the U.S. Dis­trict Court for the South­ern Dis­trict of Ohio, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Cir­cuit, The U.S. Dis­trict Court for the East­ern Dis­trict of Michi­gan and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Reitz’s prac­tice ranges from quasi-contractual dis­putes to com­plex busi­ness torts and employ­ment related issues. He also focuses on data secu­rity and pri­vacy mat­ters, con­tract dis­putes, and first amend­ment issues, includ­ing defama­tion, access to news and pub­lic records, and the Free­dom of Infor­ma­tion Act. Reitz is a recent Day­ton Busi­ness Jour­nal 40 Under 40 Award Win­ner. He is a national mem­ber of The Order of Bar­ris­ters and is also an active mem­ber of the Carl D. Kessler Inn of Court, Gen­er­a­tion Day­ton, the Amer­i­can Asso­ci­a­tion for Jus­tice, the Incar­na­tion Catholic Church Young Adults Group, and the Day­ton, Ohio, Fed­eral, and Amer­i­can Bar Associations.

Wright’s areas of prac­tice include adver­tis­ing and commercial/products lia­bil­ity mat­ters; he also has been involved in fed­eral multi-district lit­i­ga­tion and technology-related lit­i­ga­tion. In addi­tion to being a Bar­ris­ter in the Pot­ter Stew­art Amer­i­can Inn of Court, Wright is an active mem­ber of the Amer­i­can Bar Asso­ci­a­tion, Ohio State Bar Asso­ci­a­tion and Cincin­nati Bar Asso­ci­a­tion. He is a grad­u­ate of the 2010 class of Lead­er­ship Day­ton. He has been cho­sen by the Day­ton Busi­ness Jour­nal as one of the top 40 busi­ness pro­fes­sion­als under the age of 40 in South­west Ohio and has been selected as an Ohio Ris­ing Star by the Law & Pol­i­tics Mag­a­zine every year since 2006.
